What You Will Leave With
Learn three practical, evidence-informed creative interventions that can support emotional processing, self-awareness, regulation, and therapeutic connection.
The clinical “why” behind each tool. Understand what each intervention is designed to do, when it may be useful, and how to introduce it in a way that feels purposeful.
Practical adaptation strategies: learn how to modify each intervention for groups and one on one sessions.
How to facilitate and debrief the experience. Practice the language that matters before, during, and after a creative intervention; including how to help clients connect what emerges in the exercise back to their therapeutic goals.
Meet Your Facilitator
Mary Crutchfield, PMHNP-BC
Mary Crutchfield is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, entrepreneur, and creative clinician with more than a decade of experience in psychiatric practice. She is the founder of PsychBoss, Leva Psychiatry, and CreativeRx Hub. Mary integrates traditional psychiatric care with experiential approaches including expressive arts, somatic practices, hypnosis, breath-work, and nervous-system-informed interventions. Her teaching focuses on helping PMHNPs expand their therapeutic skill set in practical, ethical ways, without feeling like they need to become an entirely different kind of clinician. Her approach is simple: you don’t have to be an artist to use creativity therapeutically. You need the right tool, a clinical reason for using it, and the confidence to facilitate what happens next.
What You'll Discover in This Live Event
Feeling stuck wondering how to bring more creativity and depth into your therapeutic work? You’re not alone. Many clinicians hesitate to use creative interventions because they worry they need artistic skills or hours of preparation. You don’t. In this live event, you’ll learn three practical creative interventions you can incorporate into your existing therapeutic work—even if you don’t consider yourself a “creative person.” We’ll explore the clinical rationale behind each intervention, when it may be useful, how to adapt it for different clients and settings, and how to guide and debrief the experience so it connects back to the client’s treatment goals—not just the activity itself. You’ll leave with practical, ready-to-use tools that feel natural in session and help you bring more depth, flexibility, and engagement into your work.
For PMHNPs and mental health clinicians who:
Want more therapeutic tools beyond conversation and med management
You can engage and have fun too!
Are curious about creative interventions but do not consider yourself artistic.
We all create on a daily basis, sometimes we need some ideas!
Want to bring more engagement, depth, flexibility, and sensory experiences into sessions.
You do not need any background in art therapy or expressive arts to participate.
This Isn't Three Hours of PowerPoint
This is an experiential workshop. You'll learn the intervention, experience parts of it yourself, explore the clinical rationale behind it, and practice thinking through how you might adapt it for the clients you serve. We'll Move Through:
